And when His prohibition of asking them necessitated limiting his ambition to his Lord, glorified and exalted is He, it became known that if he was asked about something, his soul would turn to knowing it from Him. Perhaps he would say, based on what he knows of the encompassing knowledge of Allah, glorified and exalted is He, and His generosity towards him: 'I will inform you of it [tomorrow],' as occurred in these stories. Allah taught him what to say in every future matter he intends to act upon, with His saying, the Most High: 'And do not say concerning anything...' meaning for the sake of anything among the matters that one intends, whether great or trivial. You intend to do it: a sincere intention without hesitation, even if you are at the utmost of your ability to do it: 'Indeed, I will do that,' meaning the thing, even if it is important, 'tomorrow,' meaning in what is to come in a state of affairs.
