Then; meaning: if you were to approach the inclination described to them; 'We would certainly make you taste'; meaning: by Our greatness; 'double'; punishment; 'of life and double'; punishment; 'of death'; meaning: that punishment doubled.

And this material revolves around revelation; and it necessitates strengthening by weakness; by breaking the letter 'dad'; meaning: the like; and what exceeds it; and everything that has a counterpart is weak without it; and weakness; which is the like combined with its like; is strength; so from revelation: 'weakness'; and 'weakness'; with the opening and the rounding; and it is the opposite of strength; and it is said: 'weakness'; with the opening; in intellect; and opinion; and with the rounding; in body; and 'the weak': the blind; a term from the Hamir tribe; and 'a weakened land'; for the affected: it received weak rain; and 'the weakness of a thing'; with the breaking: its like; because everything that has a like is weak; and 'its two weaknesses'; its two likes; and it is said: 'you have its weakness'; meaning: its two likes; and three of its like; because the essence of weakness is an unbounded increase; and 'I doubled the thing'; meaning: I added two things to the thing; so it became three; and 'the doubles of the book'; are the spaces of its lines; because they are likened to the lines of whiteness; and an increase upon them; and from the strength that necessitates the like: 'the doubles of the body'; and they are its limbs; because most of them are paired; or they are its bones; because they are the strongest part of it; and from weakness also inverted which is 'dafa'a'; if it caused and passed gas; and likewise inverted 'fada'a'; and 'the dafa'a': the trumpet of the elephant; and 'the dafa'ana': the date of the thorny tree; round; as if it were a disc; so the meaning - and Allah knows best -: We made you taste it; it is life; and it is death; multiplied many times.

And when strength after this is in the utmost distance; He expressed it with a tool of delay; in His saying (the Exalted): 'Then you will not find for yourself'; meaning: even if you are the greatest of creation; and the highest in ambition; 'a supporter against Us'; and the verse indicates that the ugly becomes more ugly in proportion to the great status of its perpetrator; and the elevation of his rank; and that the slightest collusion with the deviators is opposed to Allah; and a departure from His guardianship; so whoever recites it should reflect upon it; and feel the fear; and the great steadfastness in religion.
