Commentary

Then He glorified Himself; magnifying Himself above that; and above every deficiency. So He said (glorified and exalted is He): ﴿Glorified is He﴾; meaning: He is exalted in the greatest exaltation above every blemish of deficiency; ﴿And exalted﴾; meaning: He is the Most Exalted (p-423) in the highest exaltation; with the attributes of perfection; ﴿Above what they say﴾; of these deficiencies; which no one among the wise of His creation would accept for himself; let alone a leader among your leaders; so how about the Most High, the Exalted?! And He brought the abstract noun in His saying (glorified and exalted is He): ﴿Exalted﴾; indicating that the action is abstract in reality; even if it was brought in the form of the mutual action; indicating the emphasis; ﴿Great﴾; which your minds cannot comprehend the reality of it; nor can you grasp more than the understanding of this description among you; according to what you are accustomed to:

The matter is greater than the saying of a speaker ∗∗∗ whether the eloquent soften it or whether they magnify it.
