And when He prohibited the aggression against souls and the bodies, which are the cause of it, He followed the prohibition of plundering what is equivalent to them. This is because it is the sustenance of them, which is wealth. He began with the most rightful of that, with the prohibition due to the intensity of greed for it, because of the weakness of its owner. So He said (glorified and exalted is He): "And do not approach"; meaning: let alone that you eat "the wealth of the orphan". He expressed it with the term 'approach', which is before taking, to emphasize the status. "Except in a way that is best"; from the ways of approaching, which is the handling of it with care, to benefit the orphan; "until he reaches"; the orphan; "his maturity"; which is the recognition of his sound judgment after he reaches it.

And when the will is a type of covenant, He commanded to fulfill what is more general than it. So He said (glorified and exalted is He): "And fulfill"; meaning: establish this type in time and place, and all that the matter depends on which is related to it; "the covenant"; meaning: by reason of it, so that the fulfillment of it is realized, and there is no deficiency in it. This is the contract that is presented for assurance.

And when knowledge of breach and fulfillment is established, the covenant itself is as if it is responsible for that. So it will be a watcher over the doer of it. So He said (glorified and exalted is He) - warning against disobedience -: "Indeed, the covenant was"; meaning: a confirmed existence regarding it; "responsible"; meaning: for everyone who made a covenant; did he fulfill it? Or responsible for it from everyone from whom the question can arise.
