And they say; that is: in the manner of continuous renewal; "Glorified is our Lord"; that is: the Creator for us is free from defects; the Planner of our affairs; the Benefactor to us; from the shortcomings; because He promised on the tongues of our messengers that He would resurrect us after death; and His promise is the truth; so it must be; and He promised that this book would come by the tongue of this Arab prophet; and He conveyed this promise to us in the previous scriptures; so He fulfilled what He had previously promised; "Indeed"; that is: indeed He "was"; that is: an existence that does not cease; "the promise of our Lord"; that is: the Benefactor to us with faith; and what follows it from the aspects of knowledge; "is certainly fulfilled"; without any contradiction; and it must be that all that He promised regarding reward; and punishment; and this is an allusion to Quraysh; as they mocked the warning in their saying: "Or will you cause the heaven to fall upon us in pieces as you claimed?"; and similar to it; from what implies the disparagement of the power of Allah, the Omnipotent over all things;
