And when it was one of the most important objectives of these methods to instill fear of the resurrection; and it was known that there is nothing after turning away from the statement; and insisting on denying the known good of kindness; except for recompense; because the Wise gives respite; and does not neglect; (p-229) He said (the Exalted) - adding to the result of "So your duty is only to convey the clear message"; and it is: So convey to them; and clarify for them; and do not despair of their return -: ﴿And on the Day﴾; meaning: And instill fear in them on the Day ﴿We will raise﴾; after the resurrection; ﴿from every nation a witness﴾; who will judge by His saying, the King, executing the matter according to what they are accustomed to; even if He is free from needing a witness; And since the permission for them to excuse themselves in some of the lengthy situations on that Day is difficult; He expressed it - glorified is He - with the tool of distance; so He said (the Exalted): ﴿Then no permission will be granted﴾; meaning: no permission will occur; in any of the estimations; ﴿for those who disbelieved﴾; meaning: after the testimony of the witnesses; in excusing themselves; as permission is granted in this world for the one being witnessed against when questioned about the excuse; because there is no excuse there in reality; ﴿And they will not﴾; meaning: specifically; ﴿be asked to appease﴾; meaning: nor will they be asked for the appeasement that leads to satisfaction; which is the removal of blame; and it is the anger; expressed by it as a manifestation of anger; expressed by it regarding its effects of might and vengeance; and the infliction of punishment on the people of wrongdoing; for the ugly things they have committed; because that abode is not a place of obligation;
