Commentary
And when the livestock were the majority of their wealth; although its benefits are more; he began with it; then he followed with what is lesser than it; arranging it from the noblest to the lesser noble; and Allah, the Most High, said: ﴿and the horses﴾; meaning: the neighing ones; ﴿and the mules﴾; meaning: those that are born between them and the donkeys; ﴿and the donkeys﴾; meaning: the braying ones.
And when riding is an action of the addressed; and it is the intended benefit; he mentioned it with the letter 'lam'; which is the original in reasoning; so he said: ﴿for you to ride them﴾; and when adornment is a follow-up to the benefit; and it is an action of the doer of the reasoning action; it was mentioned in the accusative case as a conjunction to the position of what preceded it; so he said: ﴿and adornment﴾.
And when it indicated His power by what He mentioned in the context of favor; it indicated that it does not end in that context; so He alerted that He created for them matters that if He were to count them for them, they would not understand the intended meaning of them; due to their ignorance of it; and perhaps it is the most noble of benefits than what has been mentioned; so He said: ﴿and He creates﴾; meaning: in the manner of renewal and continuation; in this world and the Hereafter; ﴿what you do not know﴾; so you do not know of it an origin other than Him nor a planner besides Him.
