Commentary
And when these two examples were completed; indicating the completeness of His knowledge; and the comprehensiveness of His power; and affirming that other than Him is non-existence; He added to His saying: "Indeed, Allah knows"; His saying - explicitly stating the completeness of His knowledge; and the comprehensiveness of His power -: ﴿And to Allah﴾; meaning: this is the knowledge of Allah in the observations; which has been known from these evidences that it is exclusive to Him; and to Him, the Majestic and the Generous; alone; ﴿The unseen of the heavens and the earth﴾; just as He alone has their testimony; so what He intended by that was His power over it is like His power over the testimony of the Hour which you deny, considering it too great; and from other than them, as He has detailed for you from the beginning of the Surah to here; from the creation of the heavens and the earth; and what is in them; ﴿And what is the matter of the Hour﴾; and it is the time in which resurrection will occur; based on your belief that it will not happen, considering it improbable; and the difficulty of its matter in its swiftness in the eyes of people if they were to see it; and for this reason, He expressed it with the Hour; ﴿Except like the blink of an eye﴾; meaning: like the return of the glance; attributed to the sight; whichever sight it may be; ﴿Or it is closer﴾; and when the creation has risen from their graves, hastening to the caller - this is in relation to their knowledge and their estimation; but as for Him - glorified and exalted is He - His matter in majesty and greatness; and swiftness; and precision; is beyond description; and intellects fall short of it; and there is no doubt in it; and no hesitation; and for this reason, He explained it with His saying (the Exalted): ﴿Indeed, Allah﴾; meaning: the Greatest King; ﴿is over all things﴾; meaning: possible; ﴿All-Powerful﴾.
