Commentary
And when the explanation of this is that they spoke with falsehood regarding Him (glorified and exalted is He); and regarding themselves; He clarified what is the truth in this position; so He said (glorified and exalted is He) - on the assumption of the response to one who might say: 'What is said about that?' - making it clear in the place of omission; as a warning about the description that necessitated the advance upon falsehoods without fear -: "For those who do not believe"; meaning: they do not possess faith at all; "the example of the Hereafter"; meaning: the saying of "evil"; from weakness; and need; and humiliation; and foolishness; "and to Allah"; meaning: He who possesses all perfection; "is the example"; meaning: the saying; or the measure; or the description; or the analogy; "the Most High"; from wealth; and strength; and all attributes of perfection; such that no need; nor weakness; nor any trace of deficiency can reach Him at all; and the most just expression about that is: 'There is no deity but Allah'; and it is possible to apply the example to the reality; as will be clarified; if Allah (glorified and exalted is He) wills in the Surah of "Ar-Rum".
And when His matter - glorified and exalted is He - is more exalted than what minds can comprehend; and understandings can reach; He indicated that with His saying (glorified and exalted is He): "And He is"; no one else; "the Almighty"; who nothing can prevent; so there is no equal to Him; "the Wise"; who does not place anything except in its proper place; so if He were to deal with them according to what they deserve from these great matters that have preceded about them; He would have cleared the earth of them;
