And when the return to polytheism after sincerity is also unlikely due to their abhorrence of the rapid change, Allah, the Most High, said: "Then when He uncovers"; glorified is He from what you associate; "the harm"; meaning: that which has afflicted you; "from you"; and He pointed out the hastiness of man in disbelief; so He, the Most High, said: "If a group"; meaning: a congregation that is the people of division and misguidance; "from you"; O servants; "with their Lord"; who alone has bestowed favors upon them; "they associate"; meaning: they commit polytheism with Him; by worshiping others; a change from them from what they were upon when they sought help from Him in hardship; so what they have likened is applicable to them with their dislike in their saying:

And when it is something disliked, it is called for ∗∗∗ And when the account is taken, the grasshopper is called

And this is the greatest ignorance.
