Commentary
And when He alerted them to His kindness towards them; and there was in it from the beginning a type of ambiguity; due to the appearance of the disbelievers at first glance; and He described them with what is needed in attracting to its completeness; as encouragement; and as motivation; He said (the Exalted) - describing the emigrants; clarifying the essence of what led them to deserve this great reward -: "Those who are patient"; meaning: they practiced patience regarding what befell them of hardships from the disbelievers; and others; in remaining among them for a period; then in migration; by leaving the homeland; which is the sanctuary of Allah; the place where His love is cherished by every heart; so how about the hearts of those for whom it is the place of their heads; and the gathering of their bodies; and their souls; and in giving their lives in jihad; and other than that; and He turned the speech to the description of kindness; as a reminder of what leads to reliance; He said (the Exalted): "And upon their Lord"; meaning: the One who is kind to them; by creating them; and guiding them; alone; "they rely"; in every situation they desire; being content with the decree of Allah (the Exalted).
