Commentary

And when the creation of the heavens and the earth was a matter of the unseen; due to its precedence; and the creation of man on this characteristic is a testimony; while being more indicative of that in terms of the fact that he is more noble than all that is worshipped besides Allah; and the Lord will not be lesser than the servant at all; He said - explaining -: ﴿He created man﴾; meaning: this type which He created is the most indicative of oneness; and the act of choice; because it is the noblest of what is in the lower world of bodies; due to its sharing with the animal; which is more noble than others by the noble powers of the apparent senses; and the hidden; and desire and anger; and his distinction by speech; which is the perception of universals; and the ability to act upon them by analogies; ﴿from a drop﴾; meaning: Adam - peace be upon him - from the absolute water; and whoever branched from him after his wife from water constrained by the discharge.

And when he was - along with his sharing with others from the animal; in being from a drop - distinguished by speech based on what is in his soul from the wonders of creation; and the subtleties of perception; that was the most indicative evidence of the completeness of the power of the doer; and his choice; so He said (the Exalted): ﴿So when he is﴾; meaning: the human created from the insignificant water; ﴿a disputant﴾; meaning: articulate; knowledgeable in argumentation; ﴿clear﴾; meaning: clear in his ability to dispute; and clarifying what he wants to the utmost clarity; after he was something that had no sensation; nor voluntary movement in any way; can the one who initiated that not be capable of restoring it?!
