Commentary

And when He established for Himself (glorified and exalted is He) the perfection of power; and the completeness of knowledge; and that He is the unique creator; He began to establish the evidence against that which they associate with Him in divinity; by negating those attributes. So He said (glorified and exalted is He): ﴿And those who invoke﴾; meaning: the invocation of worship; ﴿besides Allah﴾; meaning: the One who possesses all attributes of perfection; ﴿do not create anything﴾; and when it may be that a claimant claims something that he does not create; nor is he created; He said: ﴿and they are created﴾.
