Commentary
Then he said: ﴿And We gave him﴾; meaning: by what We have of greatness; ﴿in this world﴾; with a tongue of truth; and beautiful praise; which We have made the tongues of creation submit to him; ﴿a good thing﴾; and he indicated by the expression of the giver with the pronoun of greatness regarding His majesty; as He made him a greatly honored leader for all the people of the faiths; so He united the hearts upon his love; and He made for him among them a tongue of truth; and He granted him in his children prophethood; righteousness; kingship; and abundance; that which is well-known.
And when the greatness of this world is not considered except when coupled with the blessing of the Hereafter; Allah, the Exalted, said: ﴿And indeed, he is in the Hereafter﴾; and Allah, the Exalted, said: ﴿Certainly, he is among the righteous﴾; meaning: he has what they have of the great reward; expressing with 'among' to magnify the status of righteousness; and to encourage it.
