And when He commanded him with a specific act of worship, He followed it with the general command. He said: "And worship your Lord"; meaning: continue in the worship of the One who has been gracious to you with this Qur'an, which is the message, by prayer and other acts. "Until certainty comes to you"; meaning: what clarifies your heart regarding death, or what they are promised regarding the Hour, or other things that those who disbelieve wish they were Muslims. Al-Razi said in "Al-Lawa'ih": This is evidence that the honor of the servant is in servitude, and that worship does not cease for the servant in any state, as long as he is alive. End of quote. And Al-Baghawi said: This is the meaning of what is in Surah "Maryam" - peace be upon her - "And He enjoined upon me prayer and zakat as long as I am alive" [Maryam: 31]. Thus, the end of the Surah aligns with the command to take the Qur'an as a message for every good and to turn away from the disbelievers, in complete alignment; and both sides embrace each other, the latter and the former, in any embrace. And Allah is the One who grants success to what is right, and to Him is the return and the destination.
