Commentary
So glorify; because of that; being mixed with the saying of your Lord: "Exalt Him from the attributes of deficiency; among which is the heedlessness of what the wrongdoers do; affirming for Him the attributes of perfection; among which is the honor of the ally; and the humiliation of the enemy; and be; meaning: a natural state; from which there is no separation; among those who prostrate to Him; meaning: those who pray; meaning: those who are deeply devoted in constant submission to Him through prayer; which is the greatest submission to Him; and other acts of worship; so that it is enough for you what concerns you; for there is no one sufficient other than Him; so there is no refuge to anyone else; and He expressed it by prostration as an indication of its honor; and what is appropriate of supplication in it; especially at times of hardship; for He, the Exalted, said: "And seek help through patience and prayer" [Al-Baqarah: 45]; and it has been narrated that the Messenger of Allah - blessings and peace be upon him - would when something troubled him, hasten to prayer; this was mentioned by Al-Baghawi without a chain; and it is in the Musnad of Ahmad; and the Sunan of Abu Dawood from Hudhayfah - may Allah be pleased with him - who said: "The Prophet - blessings and peace be upon him - would when something troubled him, pray;" and in the Sunan of Al-Nasa'i al-Kubra; and the Musnad of Ahmad from Ali - may Allah be pleased with him - who said: "I saw us on the night of Badr and there was no one among us except that he was sleeping; except for the Messenger of Allah - blessings and peace be upon him - for he was praying by a tree; and supplicating; until dawn came;" and in a wording for Ahmad: "I saw us and there was no one among us except that he was sleeping; except for the Messenger of Allah - blessings and peace be upon him - under a tree praying; and weeping; until dawn came;" and for Ahmad; and Muslim; and Abu Ya'la; from Abu Hurairah - may Allah be pleased with him - that the Prophet - blessings and peace be upon him - said: "The closest that a servant comes to his Lord is when he is prostrating."
