And when this distress was extremely intense upon him - blessings and peace be upon him and his family - due to the abundance of harm he faced; Allah, glorified and exalted is He, alleviated it from him with His saying - explaining it -: "Indeed, We have sufficed you"; meaning: with what We have of greatness; "the mockers"; meaning: the worst of those who are deeply entrenched in mocking you; and with what you have brought; so We have made your eyes content by destroying them; and the burden of what they harmed you with has been removed from you; and you will still have your reward; and We will suffice you against others as We have sufficed you against them.
