And when he mentioned what befell the story of the companions of Al-Hijr who conspired to kill their messenger; and he concluded it with the warning that they are deserving of; he returned to completing their matter. He likened them to those who denied from this nation; and he said: "As"; meaning: those denied; and We gave them Our signs but they turned away from them; so We inflicted upon them from the punishment what they were deserving of; like what "We sent down"; meaning: by Our greatness from the signs; "upon the conspirators"; meaning: like them; from Quraysh; where they divided the valleys of Makkah; repelling people from You; and causing division in the words of the Qur'an; so do not be saddened by them for their denial; and their obstinacy; while they see the clear signs; for indeed Our tradition has been established regarding those whom We intended their misery; like the people of Salih;
