﴿So We took revenge on them﴾; meaning: because of that; then He informed about the two towns; due to their proximity in punishment; and location; and their being on one of the routes of the trade of Quraysh; He said: ﴿And indeed they﴾; meaning: the villages of the people of Lot; and the dwellings of the companions of the thicket; ﴿are indeed on a clear path﴾; meaning: a way that is followed and adhered to; and guidance is sought through it; ﴿clear﴾; obvious to whoever desires it; such that its clarity is a proof of the greatness of Allah; (p-80) and His support for His prophets against those who deny them; and it - despite its clarity - remains in its place; its signs have not been erased; and its traces have not been obscured; for the verse is from the intertwining: it mentioned in the first part “established”; indicating the omission of a similar word a second time; and in the second part “clear”; indicating the omission of a similar word first.
