And when he informed that he informed them of his fear of them; the listener longed for their response; so he said: ﴿They said﴾; wanting his safety: ﴿Do not fear﴾; and fear is: the disturbance of the soul due to the expectation of what is disliked; then they justified that by saying - confirming the removal of what is in his soul of the fear that contradicts the glad tidings -: ﴿Indeed, we give you good tidings of a boy﴾; meaning: a child; a male; he is in the utmost strength; and he is not like the children of the old men, weak; and when his fear was due to the concealment of their matter from him; there was an additional merit in the description of knowledge in this context; so they said: ﴿Knowing﴾;
