And when I understood what preceded - as we said - the judgment of his misleading; the listener was as if he said: So what did he say? It was said: 'He said'; attributed to himself with the exalted deity - who is not asked about what He does; and all His actions are just and wise - after He raised Himself above the human servant: 'My Lord'; meaning: O Creator; and the one who nurtures me; and by Your might; 'because You misled me'; meaning: because of Your misleading me for their sake; and for the concern regarding this reason, he placed it before the answer to the oath indicating the thing sworn by; and it is His saying: 'I will surely beautify for them'; meaning: a great beautification; of sins; and the permissible things that lead to them; that distract from obedience; that divert from it; 'in the earth'; meaning: which is the place of heedlessness; and they are from it; and a thing is more inclined to what it is from; so it is by this estimation equal to the verse of 'Sad'; 'So by Your might'; and beautification: making a thing acceptable in the soul; from the aspect of nature; and reason; truly; or falsely; 'and I will surely lead them astray'; meaning: by misleading from the praiseworthy path; 'all together'; as vengeance for myself;
