Therefore, he said - in response to one who seemed to ask: Is this specific to these people? It was said: No; rather - ﴿Thus﴾; meaning: like this strange and remarkable path. He expressed it in the present tense, indicating continuity, as the situation requires it, as has been mentioned at the beginning. So he said: ﴿We will place it﴾; meaning: the mention; ﴿in the hearts of the criminals﴾; meaning: those deeply entrenched in crime at all times; just as a thread or a spear is threaded in what is organized within it, from sewing and otherwise, with great difficulty; the place does not accommodate it; thus it does not benefit them, while they are in that state.
