Commentary
And when the hearts of the people of misguidance are described as being tight and constricted, the one who enters them does not enter except with great difficulty. Therefore, he said - in response to one who seemed to ask: Is this specific to these people? It was said: No; rather - ﴿Thus﴾; meaning: like this strange and remarkable path. He expressed it in the present tense, indicating continuity, as the situation requires it, as has been mentioned at the beginning. So he said: ﴿We will place it﴾; meaning: the mention; ﴿in the hearts of the criminals﴾; meaning: those deeply entrenched in crime at all times; just as a thread or a spear is threaded in what is organized within it, from sewing and otherwise, with great difficulty; the place does not accommodate it; thus it does not benefit them, while they are in that state.
