And when the harm to them was absolute prohibition, they built for the action of their saying: "The measure has been withheld from us" for our brother Binyamin on his camel due to his absence. And we all, after this time, if we do not take him with us, will show our truthfulness; and prohibition is the establishment of what is impossible for the capable to do.

And its opposite is empowerment. As for inability, its opposite is ability. "So he sent" means because of the removal of this prohibition, "our brother with us." Indeed, if you send him with us, "we will measure" for himself just as each one of us measures for himself - this is according to the reading of Hamzah and Al-Kisai with the lower vowel. And we will interpret it according to the reading of the majority with the plural - from the measure that the Aziz has appointed, and it is a burden for each one. And they confirmed what they had previously done with Yusuf, blessings and peace be upon him, which would necessitate suspicion against them. So they said: "And indeed, we will surely protect him," that is, specifically, "from any harm until we return him to you," being steadfast in this description.

It is as if it was said: What did he do in this after what they did when he sent Yusuf, blessings and peace be upon him, with them? It was said: He was determined to send him with them, but he showed reliance on Allah, the Exalted, in his matter, not content with their confirmed promise in his protection, due to what had previously occurred from them of the like concerning Yusuf, blessings and peace be upon him.
