And when the matter became clear, the king ordered for him to be brought forth, so that he may seek assistance from him regarding what pertains to the king. However, since the exoneration of the truthful one was more important than that - and it is the intended purpose of the messenger's return - he prioritized the remainder of the speech concerning it. This was to ensure that his words regarding his exoneration were connected to the words of the women in that matter. What indicated that this was his speech were the wisdoms contained therein, which no one else knew at that time. He said - based on what you can deduce: So when the messenger returned to Yusuf, blessings and peace be upon him, and informed him of their testimony regarding his exoneration, he said: 'That is' meaning the great character in my steadfastness in prison until the truth became clear 'so that the Aziz may know with confirmed knowledge that I did not betray him' meaning neither in his family nor in anything else 'in the unseen' meaning while each of us is absent from his companion. 'And' so that he may know by her acknowledgment while she is in safety and abundance, and my steadfastness while I am in a state of distress and fear, there is no way for it to be hidden from anyone whom Allah has not supported with a spirit from Him. 'Indeed, Allah' meaning the One who encompasses the attributes of perfection 'does not guide' meaning does not direct or grant success in any way 'the plot of the betrayers' meaning those deeply entrenched in betrayal. Rather, there must be a reason for the appearance of betrayal, even if the betrayer strives to conceal it; and betrayal is the violation of the truth by breaking the general covenant. Its opposite is trustworthiness, and treachery is the specific violation of it. The meaning is that when I was innocent, Allah directed my affair and made my outcome one of great goodness and complete exoneration. And when someone else was a betrayer, Allah caused him to confess to it.
