So when these matters had occurred, a woman saw her master with her gaze towards Yusuf and said to him: 'Come to me.' But he refused that and said to his master's wife: 'Indeed, my master, due to his trust in me, does not know what is in his house. He has entrusted me with all that belongs to him, and there is no one in this house greater than me. He has not prevented me from anything except you, because you are his wife. So how could I commit this great evil and sin before Allah?' And when she would entice him every day, he did not obey her to lie with her and be with her. One day, while Yusuf entered the house to do a task, and no one from the family was there, she grabbed his shirt and said to him: 'Come to me.' He left his shirt in her hand and fled. He went out to the market. When she saw that he had left his shirt in her hand and had escaped to the market, she called her household and said to them: 'Look, a Hebrew man has come to us to disgrace us, for he entered upon me wanting to lie with me.' And she shouted [with a loud voice]. When he saw that I had raised my voice and shouted, he left his shirt in my hand and fled to the market.

And the chief of the prison did not oversee anything that was in his hand, for the Lord was with him in assistance, and everything he did was made successful by the Lord.

While it was like that, it budded and its leaves sprouted, and its clusters became ripe grapes. And it was as if I had a cup of Pharaoh in my hand, so I took from the grapes and pressed them into Pharaoh's cup, and I gave the cup to Pharaoh." Yusuf, peace be upon him, said to him: "This is the interpretation of your dream: the three branches are three days. After three days, Pharaoh will remember you and restore you to your position, and you will serve Pharaoh the cup as you used to do before. So remember me when you are in a good position, and mention me to Pharaoh, and bring me out of this prison, for I was stolen from the land of the Hebrews, and I have done no wrong to be here in prison." Then the chief of the bakers - and in one version: the cooks - saw that he had interpreted well, so he said to Yusuf: "I also saw in my dream as if there were three baskets of white bread on my head, and in the top basket were all kinds of food for Pharaoh, which the baker makes - and in one version: the work of a skillful cook - and the birds were eating from the basket above my head." Yusuf replied and said to him: "This is the interpretation of your dream: the three baskets are three days. After three days, Pharaoh will order your head to be lifted and you will be hanged on a tree, and the birds will eat your flesh."
