And when what He, the Most High, intended by explaining the description [as 'the clear'] was completed, He replaced His saying 'the best of stories' with His saying: ﴿When﴾ meaning: We narrate to you the news of when, meaning the news of Yusuf when ﴿Yusuf said﴾ meaning the son of Yaqub, Israel, may blessings and peace be upon them both, ﴿to his father﴾ and he clarified his respect by saying - indicating with the tool of distance that his father is of very high status, and that the coming words have a great impact, so he should be concerned with listening to them and responding to them, and other matters of his: ﴿O my father﴾. The 'ta' is for femininity because it is paused upon by some readers with the 'ha', and its kasrah by those who broke it indicates the 'ya' of the genitive which was compensated for by the 'ta' of femininity.
