Commentary

And when things are of two kinds: the world of creation and the world of command, and the world of command is entirely good, then evil is confined to the world of creation specifically through seeking refuge. So Allah, the Most High, said, generalizing in it: ﴿From the evil of what He created﴾, meaning from everything other than Allah, glorified and exalted is He, and His attributes. Evil sometimes occurs voluntarily from the rational being, falling under the meaning of 'no' and other than it from all living beings, such as disbelief, oppression, the tearing of beasts, and the sting of venomous creatures. Sometimes it is natural, like the burning of fire and the destruction caused by poison. And Imam Abu Ja'far ibn al-Zubayr said: It has been indicated - that is, in the words regarding the connection of sincerity - to the aspect of its connection mentioned earlier, and that is clear, if Allah, the Most High, wills - it has ended.
