And when the specification of them denying honor by it implies that his people have honor over them, he denied that to them in a threatening context. So Allah, the Most High, said, narrating from him as a continuation: "He said" (p-364), meaning Shu'ayb, "O my people." And the matter did not lack attraction and appeal by mentioning the affectionate kinship. "Are my relatives" meaning: my closest relatives among you, "more honored to you than Allah" meaning: the One who encompasses all things in knowledge and power, so that you looked at them in relation to my kinship with them and did not look at Allah in relation to my closeness to Him due to what has appeared upon me of His honor. "And you took him" meaning: [by what] you burdened yourselves with that which is contrary to the original nature. "Behind you" meaning: you turned away from Him as one who has placed something behind him; and he affirmed the meaning of behind by saying: "as something forgotten" meaning: you made Him like something absent from you, neglected by you, which you do not care about. And you did not observe Him in relation to me due to my prophethood and servitude to Him.

And when the meaning of the words is for the purpose of denial: you have reversed in action and did not recognize the truth for its people; for it was appropriate for you not to forget Allah but to observe Him in all your affairs. This reasoning for this concept is well expressed by His saying: "Indeed, my Lord" meaning: the One who is good to me; and when the intended meaning is to emphasize the encompassing knowledge of Him, the Most High, regarding their actions, He preceded His saying: "What you do is encompassing" of great and trivial matters. So He is capable in every action of your actions to enforce it and nullify it. He is encompassing of you; nothing can prevent Him from aiding me against you or from bringing you down due to the consideration of anyone for honor or strength. Rather, you have a term with Him that He is delaying you to because He does not fear loss; and taking is: taking something for a matter that continues in the future, like taking a house; and the encompassing is: the one who surrounds something like a wall that encloses it such that nothing escapes from it (p-365).
