Then he denied that he has any motive in that other than advising them by saying, "Indeed, I am a sincere advisor to you in this matter, so do not let my confronting you with what you dislike trouble you." (O my people) repeating for the sake of persuasion, "I do not ask you" meaning: in the future as I did not ask you in the past, "for it" meaning: for this warning, "a reward" meaning: so I am not a subject of accusation. "If" [meaning what]; "my reward" [Then he described those who rely upon Him, glorified and exalted is He, with what indicates sufficiency, so upon me is the obligation of thanking Him, and he said]: "except for the One who created me" meaning: He began my creation and no one shared in it with Him; for He is the absolute Rich, I do not direct my desire to anyone else as is required of everyone due to it being innate.
And when the disagreement, which has no share in the worldly matters, does not require a person in the indication that its owner is a refuge for him from the side of Allah, and that there is no salvation except through Him, other than reason, this caused his denial of them in his saying: "Do you not understand?"
