And when it was as if it was said: O I wish I knew what will be the condition of the people when that appointed time comes, and there are the tyrants, the leaders, and those of greatness and nobility among them! It was answered by His saying: ﴿The Day when it comes﴾ meaning: that appointed time they will not be able to refrain, nor even to speak at all. Ibn 'Amir, 'Asim, and Hamzah omitted the letter 'ya' as a substitute for it with the kasrah, as is common in the language of Hudhayl.
