And when this arrangement from Allah is sufficient for them regarding their apparent concerns of wealth and their hidden concerns of security, and gratitude to the Benefactor is obligatory, then if He bestows what the Benefactor gives for gratitude, its obligation upon them is greater. The reason for His benefaction upon them by that is His saying: ﴿So let them worship﴾, meaning Quraysh, as a matter of obligation, in gratitude for this blessing specifically, if they do not thank Him for all His countless blessings, for they claim that they are the most grateful of people for kindness and the furthest from disbelief. ﴿Lord of this House﴾, meaning the One who created it and is gracious to its people by nurturing them with it and protecting them from every tyrant, and His influence for the sake of its sanctity against every aggressor, and by humiliating the tyrants for Him so that His kindness to them may be complete and His compassion towards them may be fulfilled by completing their honor for them in this world and the Hereafter.
