Commentary
And when the one who criticizes and mocks described, describing the one who breaks, Allah, the Exalted, said: ﴿the one that﴾. And when it was not possible for anyone to know the conditions of a thing except one who has prior knowledge of it, He said: ﴿it knows﴾ with a profound knowledge ﴿of the hearts﴾, the plural of heart, which is the heart that is almost burning from its intensity of awareness. It was appropriate for him to direct his awareness towards the means of salvation, and for it to know him by rising above him and encompassing him with a profound encompassing. It was named thus due to the intensity that ignites it, and it was specifically mentioned because it is the softest part of the body and the most sensitive to the slightest harm. And because it is the source of corrupt beliefs and the mine of love for wealth, which is the source of corruption and misguidance, and from it arise the vile actions.
