(p-220) The Surah of Al-Qari'a, its purpose

It clarifies the Day of Judgment by depicting the moments of its states in its beginning and end. It divides the people therein into the saved and the doomed. Its name, Al-Qari'a, is clear in that: 'In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful,' the King, the Most High, 'the Most Gracious,' whose blessing of existence and clarification has encompassed all of creation, 'the Most Merciful,' who has specifically granted the people of His party success in what is required and pleasing.

* *When He concluded Al-Adiyat with resurrection, He mentioned its call and said: ﴿Al-Qari'a﴾, meaning the call or the resurrection. It is named so because it strikes the ears of the people and knocks them hard, with a great and disturbing fright, with the heavy bodies being split and torn apart, and the fixed things being scattered.
