Commentary
'And when he mentioned its enemy, he followed it with what arises from it. He said, emphasizing with a tool of conjunction, that the enemy is where the cause of it arises and the following of it is the 'irā' (the kindling): ﴿So the kindlers﴾, meaning those that bring forth fire by what strikes from its sole against the stones, especially when traversing the paths.
And when the 'irā' is the effect of the striking, he said: ﴿Striking﴾, meaning it is struck forcefully like the striking of the flint to kindle the fire. He attributed the 'irā' to it for the purpose of creating its form, even if it does not have an intention towards it.
