And when the knowledge is for encompassing the thing, both outwardly and inwardly, and it is necessary that knowledge of the thing after being with a long duration of knowledge of it, in the case of its being from the first category, he said: "On that Day" meaning when these matters occur, and it is the Day of Resurrection. "Certainly All-Aware" meaning encompassing them from all directions, knowing the utmost knowledge of their inner matters. So how about their outward appearances, their essences and attributes, their sayings and actions, whether they were hidden or apparent, secret or public, good or evil? It is known that in it is injustice and others, and among them is the good-doer and others. For the sake of His knowledge, glorified and exalted is He, of that utmost knowledge, He will hold them accountable so that what contradicts wisdom does not occur, which is for the good deed and the evil deed to be equal. The intent with the restriction and the presentation of the context is to convey that He, glorified and exalted is He, is encompassing in knowledge of that. Just as if it were said to you: Do you know so-and-so? And you said: I only know him, for your intent with that is that your knowledge of him is in utmost precision, not negating the knowledge of others. And in it is an indication that everyone knows the utmost knowledge on that Day that He, glorified and exalted is He, is [knowledgeable] of their states, with no forgetfulness of Him regarding anything of that, as occurs in this abode where a person does many things while being heedless of the fact that his Lord, glorified is He, is observing him in them. And if he were to be alerted to knowledge, for His encompassing knowledge, glorified and exalted is He, of all their states, He knew that man is ungrateful to his Lord. And its end returns to its beginning, and its detailed explanation suffices for its summary - and Allah is the guide to the truth.
