And when the good news of the negation of fear and sorrow for the allies has preceded, it is known that the meaning is: this good news is for the allies, and you are their chief, so do not fear. Then He added to it His saying: ﴿And let not your heart be saddened by their words﴾ [meaning] in regard to their saying: indeed, they will prevail, and in their denying you, mocking you, and threatening you. For that is a statement intended to change the words of Allah, the Self-Sufficient, the Powerful, and how far is that from the weak and poor, so how about the Exalted and Great! And to this points the reasoning for this prohibition by His saying: ﴿Indeed, all honor﴾ meaning dominance and subjugation and the completeness of greatness ﴿belongs to Allah﴾ meaning the Most High King while it is ﴿all together﴾ meaning: He will humiliate them and honor His religion, and the intended purpose of that is to console regarding their words by which they harm him.

And when the verse began with their saying, He concluded it with hearing them and knowing them, and He confined them to Him because the attributes of every described being are insignificant in relation to His attributes. He said: ﴿He﴾ meaning: alone ﴿is the Hearing﴾ meaning: the All-Hearing, the One who hears their words ﴿the Knowing﴾ meaning: the All-Knowing of their inner thoughts and all their states, for He is the One with the complete power over everything, so He will reward them according to what is warranted. And this is a reasoning for His uniqueness in honor because He alone possesses these two attributes, and they are negated from others. And whoever is negated from Him is less than the mute animals, so how can he have honor! And honor is the power over every tyrant in a way that cannot be opposed or harmed. The meaning is that He will honor you over those who oppose you, and the prohibition in ﴿And let not your heart be saddened﴾ is in the wording for the saying and in the meaning for the cause leading to being harmed by the saying. And the word 'Indeed' is broken here for the purpose of beginning with the reminder of what negates sorrow, not because it is after the saying, for it is not a narration about them, and it was read with its opening as meaning 'because'.
