And when there was in this verse a threat of punishment, either in this world or in the Hereafter, not specified for him [blessings and peace be upon him] as one of the two, he followed it with what is suitable for both matters concerning every Messenger. This indicates that the conditions of the nations are not systematic, and for this reason, he did not assert the specification of one of the two abodes for recompense. The matter was made contingent upon justice, so in whichever abode it was established, he placed it therein. And Allah, the Most High, said: [indicating that he spread the mention of Islam, which is the belief in Allah, His angels, His Books, His Messenger, and the Last Day, from the time of Adam, peace be upon him, until the end of time, in a manner that has not experienced extinction in any era of the eras. Whoever abandons it deserves punishment, whether he is among those between Jesus and Muhammad, peace be upon them, or not. So do not be deceived by what is said other than this]: ﴿And for every nation﴾ meaning: of the nations that have passed before you ﴿there is a Messenger﴾ calling them to Allah; then he caused the coming of their Messenger to be a clarification of the judgment concerning them, and he said: ﴿So when their Messenger comes﴾ [meaning] to them ﴿with clear signs and guidance in this world; and in the Hereafter, at the standing [before Allah], with the news of what they did with him in this world, whether they denied or affirmed him﴿ judgment will be made between them﴾ [meaning in all matters with what has been indicated by the removal of the restraint in the easiest manner without doubt, with what has been indicated by the construction for the passive voice; and since the context was more appropriate for intimidation, he said]: ﴿with justice﴾ meaning: He revealed what was [hidden] of their deserving in the judgment with fairness [and the equitable distribution among them all equally, giving each one of them the measure that pertains to him] of the hastening of punishment and its delay, as He did with you; and since that does not necessitate permanence, He said: ﴿and they will not be wronged﴾ (p-134) meaning: they will not experience any injustice from Him, glorified and exalted is He, nor from anyone else.
