Tafsir for verse: 9:70
70Has there not reached them the news of those before them, the people of NūH and ‘Ād and Thamūd and the people of Ibrāhīm and the people of Madyan, and (the news) of the towns overturned? Their messengers came to them with clear signs; so, Allah was not such as would wrong them, but they have been doing wrong to their own selves.

Commentary
And the people of Madyan, and the people of Shu'ayb, and the overturned cities, the cities of the people of Lut. And it was said: the villages of the people of Lut, Hud, and Salih, and their overturning: the change of their conditions from good to evil. So Allah would not wrong them; it is not right for Him to wrong them, for He is Wise and it is not permissible for Him to do what is vile, nor to punish them without a crime. But they wronged themselves by disbelieving in Him, so they deserved His punishment.
