The word 'الكاف' is in the nominative case because of: 'You are like those who were before you.' Or it is in the accusative case because of: 'You have done like what those before you did,' which is that you enjoyed and indulged as they enjoyed and indulged. And similar is the saying of al-Namr: 'Like today, sought after and not sought.' Until when the dogs said to her... 'Like today, sought after and not sought.' This is attributed to Aws ibn Hajar. It is said to be to al-Namr ibn Tuwalib, and in it is an omission that can only be understood by it, meaning he said to her: 'I did not see like today, sought after,' and the pronoun refers to the hunting dog. And the dogs refer to the dog trainer or the hunter with it, meaning that the sought after and the request on this day is not like that in others, but greater. And perhaps the intended meaning of the request is the seeker. Then it is possible that this is a saying, and it is possible that it is a response to 'if' and the saying is omitted, indicating its swiftness: meaning he said to her: 'Go, for example.'
