If you say: What is the answer to the oath? I say: Indeed, every soul has a guardian over it. This is because 'Indeed' does not lack in the reading of 'lama' as emphasized, meaning: unless it is negating. And in the reading of it as lightened, on the basis that 'ma' is a relative pronoun, it is lightened from the heavy form. Whichever it is, it is that which receives the oath. A guardian, a watcher over it, and that is Allah, the Mighty and Majestic. And Allah is indeed a watcher over all things. And Allah is indeed a sustainer of all things. It is said: An angel preserves its deeds and counts what it earns of good and evil. It has been narrated from the Prophet, blessings and peace be upon him: 'And there are one hundred and sixty angels assigned to the believer, defending him just as a fly is driven away from a dish of honey. If the servant were left to himself for the blink of an eye, the devils would seize him.'
