Commentary
The unjust ones, the disbelievers, who stray from the path of truth. And from Sa'id ibn Jubair, may Allah be pleased with him: That al-Hajjaj said to him when he intended to kill him: What do you say about me? He said: A just oppressor. The people said: How good is what he said, thinking that he is describing him with justice and fairness. Al-Hajjaj said: O ignorant ones, he has called me an oppressor and a disbeliever, and he recited to them the saying of Allah, the Most High: 'As for the unjust ones.' And His saying, the Most High: 'Then those who disbelieved in their Lord will be treated equally.' And it has been claimed by those who do not see any reward for the jinn that Allah, the Most High, has promised the unjust ones what He has promised the believers. And it is enough of a promise that He said: 'So those are the ones who have sought guidance.' He mentioned the reason for the reward and its cause, and Allah is more just than to punish the unjust and not reward the guided.
