When we heard the guidance, it is their hearing of the Qur'an and their belief in it. So he does not fear, meaning he is not afraid. Because the speech is in the estimation of a subject and a predicate, the letter 'fa' (so) was included. If it were not for that, it would have been said: he does not fear. If you say: what is the benefit in raising the verb and estimating a subject before it so that it becomes a predicate for it and the necessity of including the 'fa', and all of that could have been omitted by saying: he does not fear? I say: the benefit in it is that when he does that, it is as if it were said: he does not fear, thus indicating the certainty that the believer is saved without a doubt and that he is the one specifically entitled to that, unlike others. Al-A'mash read: so he does not fear, in the prohibition of being wronged or oppressed, meaning a reward of being wronged or oppressed, because he has not wronged anyone their right nor oppressed anyone. So he does not fear their punishment. And it indicates that it is the right of one who believes in Allah to avoid injustices. From it is his saying, blessings and peace be upon him: 'The believer is the one whom people trust regarding their lives and their wealth.' It is possible that it is meant: so he does not fear being wronged, but rather he will receive the best reward, nor that he will be overwhelmed by humiliation, from His saying, exalted is He: 'And they will be overwhelmed by humiliation.'
