When he said, "And certainly We have created for Hell many," he informed that many of the two weighty groups are engaged in the deeds of the people of the Fire. He followed it with the saying, "And of those We created is a nation guiding by the truth." It is reported from the Prophet, blessings and peace be upon him, that he would say when he recited it, "This is for you, and the people before you have been given something similar." "And of the people of Moses is a nation guiding by the truth." And from him, blessings and peace be upon him, it is said, "Indeed, among my nation are a group upon the truth until Jesus, peace be upon him, descends." It is reported from al-Thalabi from al-Rabi' ibn Anas, and its chain is mentioned at the beginning of his book. Ahmad narrated it from the hadith of 'Imran ibn Husayn with the wording, "A group from my nation will continue to be upon the truth until the command of Allah comes, and Jesus, son of Mary, descends." In the history of al-Bukhari from 'Abd al-Tughawi from Jabir, it is similar, and Abu Ya'la narrated it from another source, adding, "Their Imam will say: Advance, O Spirit of Allah, and he will say: You are more deserving of the matter that has been honored to this nation." And from al-Kalbi: They are those who believed from the People of the Book. It was said: They are the scholars and callers to the religion.
