Commentary
At-taqawwul: the act of fabricating a saying. [Mahamud said: "At-taqawwul is a fabrication from the saying, for it involves a pretense..." Ahmad said: "And the construction of aqawil is from the saying, and it is defective, as you see it is absent from the morphological analogy. It is possible that the aqawil is a plural of the plural, like al-an‘aam: the plural of aqwal and an‘am, and this is the apparent meaning, and Allah knows best.] It is as if it involves a pretense from the fabricator. The fabricated sayings are called "aqawil" in a diminutive and derogatory sense, like saying: the wonders and the jokes, as if it is a plural of af‘ulah from the saying. The meaning is: If he were to claim against us something we did not say, we would kill him patiently, as kings do with those who lie about them immediately with wrath and vengeance. Thus, the killing of patience is depicted in its form to be more terrifying: that he is seized by his hand and his neck is struck.
And the right is specified over the left because when a fighter intends to strike at the back of the neck, he takes with his left, and when he intends to strike at his throat and to stab him with the sword, which is more severe for the one being patient due to his sight of the sword, he takes with his right.
And the meaning of "LAA AKHADHNA MINHU BIL-YAMEEN" is that we would take with his right hand, just as his saying "LA QATA‘NA MINHU AL-WATEEN" means we would cut his wateen. This is clear. The wateen is the cord of the heart, which is the vein: if it is cut, its owner dies. And it is recited: "And if he were to fabricate" in the passive construction. It is said that it is a barrier in the description of one, because it is in the meaning of the group, and it is a name that applies in the general negation equally to the singular and the plural, the masculine and the feminine. From it is His saying: "We do not differentiate between any of His messengers," and "You are not like any of the women." And the pronoun in " عنه" refers to killing, meaning: none of you can prevent him from that and push him away from it. Or to the Messenger of Allah, meaning: you cannot prevent the killer from him and place a barrier between him and him, and the address is to the people. Likewise, in His saying: "And indeed, We know that among you are disbelievers," it is a warning against disbelief. It is said that the address is to the Muslims. The meaning is that among them are people who will disbelieve in the Qur'an. "And indeed, it is a source of regret for the disbelievers in it, when they see the reward of those who believe in it." Or to the disbelief, and that the Qur'an is the certainty of true certainty, like saying: he is the scholar of true scholarship, and the reality of the scholar. The meaning is: the eye of certainty, and pure certainty. So glorify Allah by mentioning His great name, which is His saying: "Subhanallah," and worship Him in gratitude for what He has destroyed for you from His inspiration to you.
