The claim: the assertion of knowledge. From it is his saying, blessings and peace be upon him, "They claimed the mount of falsehood." I have not found it reported with this wording, and it has been mentioned earlier in the beginning of Al-Baqarah with the wording, "Wretched is the mount of a man to falsehood, they claimed." It has also been reported from Shurayh, "They claimed the nickname of falsehood." And from Shurayh: everything is a nickname, and the nickname of falsehood is "they claimed." It is transitive to the two objects as knowledge is transitive. He said: ... And I did not claim you to be isolated from that. And indeed, the one who has lived, O Umm Malik, will die, and I did not claim you to be isolated from that. He says: And every living being, no matter how long its life, will die, and I do not think you, O Umm Malik, are isolated from that ruling or death. And the isolated: a place of solitude and seclusion, meaning: I do not think you are in isolation from it or of an isolated nature or withdrawn. Or the saying itself is an exaggeration. And indeed, with what is in its sphere, it stands in place of them. And those who disbelieved: the people of Mecca. And indeed, the affirmation is for what comes after the negation, which is resurrection, and that is easy for Allah, meaning nothing prevents Him from it. And He meant by His Messenger and the light: Muhammad, blessings and peace be upon him, and the Qur'an.
