If you say: What is the reason for the conjunction of His saying 'and that you establish'? Ahmad said: This is evidence of the saying that to submit means to submit, and that the 'lam' in it is an adjunct to 'that' and is not intended to be conjoined with it. This is the correct view, if Allah wills.

And in the mention of 'establish the prayer' being narrated in its form, and the mention of 'we submit' being narrated in its meaning, for the original that corresponds to 'establish' is 'submit', which is evidence of what I presented at His saying: 'I did not say to them except what You commanded me to say: Worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord.' I then clarified that this is permissible on the basis that Jesus, peace be upon him, narrated the saying of Allah, the Exalted, 'Worship Allah, your Lord and the Lord of Jesus' in its meaning, saying: 'Worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord.' This is similar to narrating the meaning without the wording. And Allah knows best.

I said: It is on the position of 'that we submit' as if it were said: And we were commanded to submit, and to establish. It is permissible that the estimate is: And we were commanded to submit, and to establish: that is, for Islam and for establishing the prayer. His saying 'the truth' is the subject. And the Day He says is the predicate, advanced over it, and its case is in the sense of the inference, like your saying: 'On Friday, fighting.' And 'the day' means 'the time.' The meaning is that He created the heavens and the earth standing with truth and wisdom, and when He says to something 'Be,' then that thing is His saying of truth and wisdom, meaning that nothing in the heavens and the earth and all creations occurs except by wisdom and correctness.

And 'the day the trumpet is blown' is an adverbial phrase for His saying 'and to Him belongs the dominion,' like His saying 'To whom belongs the dominion today?' And it is permissible that His saying 'the truth' is the subject of 'to be,' meaning: And when He says to His saying of truth, meaning to His decree of truth 'Be,' then His saying is the truth. And the case of 'the day' is for something omitted, indicated by His saying 'with truth,' as if it were said: And when He creates and decrees, He stands with truth, the Knower of the unseen, He is the Knower of the unseen, and His exaltation is for praise.
