He made you successors of the earth because Muhammad, blessings and peace be upon him, is the Seal of the Prophets. His nation took an oath over all the nations. Or He made them succeed one another. Or they are the successors of Allah in His earth, possessing it and managing it. And He raised some of you above others in ranks in honor and provision, to test you in what He has given you of the blessing of wealth and status, how you give thanks for that blessing, and how the noble acts with the lowly, the free with the slave, and the rich with the poor. Indeed, your Lord is swift in punishment for whoever denies His blessing, and indeed, He is Forgiving and Merciful for whoever stands to give thanks for it.

And He described the punishment as swift because what is coming is near.

From the Messenger of Allah, blessings and peace be upon him, "Surah Al-An'am was revealed to me all at once, accompanied by seventy thousand angels who have a chant of glorification and praise. So whoever recites Al-An'am, those seventy thousand angels seek forgiveness for him for every verse of Surah Al-An'am for a day and a night." [[Its paths preceded in Surah Al-Imran. In it is Abu 'Asim, who is accused of lying. The beginning of it is found in Al-Tabarani in Al-Saghir in the biography of Ibrahim ibn Naila from the hadith of Ibn Umar up to the saying "and praise." In it is Yusuf ibn 'Atiyyah, who is weak, and it was narrated by him by Ibn Mardawayh in his Tafsir and Abu Nu'aym in Al-Hilya.]]
