Tafsir for verse: 6:124
124When a sign comes to them, they say, “We shall never come to believe unless we are given the like of what was given to the messengers of Allah.” Allah knows best where to place His message. Those who committed sin shall soon suffer from disgrace before Allah and face severe punishment for the mischief they have been making.

Commentary
Allah knows best. This is a statement that begins to deny them. No one is chosen for prophethood except one who knows that he is suitable for it, and He knows best the place where He places it among them. Those who have committed crimes will be struck with humiliation and disgrace after their greatness and importance, and a severe punishment in both worlds, from captivity, killing, and the punishment of the Fire.
