So, is it by this saying, meaning the Qur'an, that you are being negligent? That is: you are being careless with it, like one who softens in a matter, meaning he does not stand firm in it due to his negligence. And you make your provision that you are denying, with the omission of the added word, meaning: and you make the gratitude for your provision denial, that is: you have placed denial in the place of gratitude.

And it was recited by him, may Allah be pleased with him: and you make your gratitude that you are denying. It is said: this is the recitation of the Messenger of Allah, blessings and peace be upon him. The meaning is: and you make your gratitude for the blessing of the Qur'an that you are denying it. It is said: it was revealed regarding the stars and their attribution of rain to them. And the provision is: the rain, meaning: and you make the gratitude for what Allah provides you of rain that you are denying it being from Allah, while you attribute it to the stars. And it was recited: you deny, which is their saying about the Qur'an: poetry, magic, and fabrication. And regarding the rain: it is from the stars, and because every denier of the truth is a liar.
