In them, in these counted blessings of the two gardens, the two springs, the fruits, the couches, and the harvest. Or in the two gardens, for they include places, palaces, and gatherings of women who have lowered their gazes upon their husbands: they do not look at others. No human has touched them from among humans, nor has any jinn touched them from among the jinn. [Mahrud said: 'No human has touched the human, nor has any jinn touched the jinn... etc.'] Ahmad said: This is an indication against those who claim that the believing jinn have no reward, and that their recompense is merely the absence of punishment and their being turned to dust. This is evidence that the jinn do touch as humans do, and it was read: 'No one has touched them,' with the 'm' pronounced. It is said: They are in the clarity of sapphire and the whiteness of coral, and the small pearls: whiter still. It is said that the houri wears seventy garments, and the color of her shin can be seen through them, just as red drink is seen in a white glass. Is the reward for good deeds in action not only good in reward? And from Muhammad ibn al-Hanafiyyah: It is recorded for the righteous and the wicked. That is: it is sent forth, meaning: whoever does good is treated well, and whoever does evil is treated with evil.
